Lene Otis Finn + Max Syedtollan + Han + Sholto Dobie
Cafè Oto, E8 3DL , [Venue Details]Glasgow's Greater Lanarkshire Auricular Research Council, or GLARC for short, have been producing rigorous cassette-based periodicals for 10 years now.
Acting as a springboard for the dazzling academic careers of enumerable luminaries, they pride themselves on producing high-impact globally distributed research output. As part of their anniversary, they have organised a couple of plenary showcases in Glasgow, and they are also coming to London with seasoned and promising new scholars:
Lene Otis Finn - Lene de Montaigu, Otis Jordan and Finn Rosenbaum are a trio of musicians who met in Glasgow and performed throughout its outdoor spaces and with its scrapheap of found objects. They captured their improvisations and collaborative pieces on GLARC 0000000000000023 before parting ways and moving to different cities.
Max Syedtollan - Through his first 3 releases on GLARC (GLARC 0000000000000002, GLARC 0000000000000008, GLARC 0000000000000011) Max developed a unique and thrillingly unpredictable audio carnivalesque which has continued to blossom at labels such as 33-33, Bison and his own World Service. Indeed, his latest compositions have been described as verging on evil, with works "calculated to cause maximum offence".
